From June 5 to 8, 2026, Parcoursup requires you to rank your waitlisted application choices in order of preference. Here's how to do it and why it's crucial.
Do I need to rank my waitlisted Parcoursup application choices?
Yes, and it's mandatory. From June 5 to 8, 2026, Parcoursup requires you to rank your waitlisted application choices in order of preference. Without ranking, your waitlisted application choices are automatically deleted. This is the key step to avoid losing your chances.
Why this ranking?
The goal is to streamline the process: by knowing your preferences, Parcoursup can release more quickly the spots you would ultimately not want. This speeds up the waitlists for everyone.
When to rank?
From June 5 to June 8, 2026 inclusive. A notification will alert you via SMS, e-mail and Parcoursup messaging.
How to rank?
- Log in to your Parcoursup file
- Go to the "My waitlisted application choices" section
- Drag and drop your application choices in descending order of preference (1 = the one you want most)
- Confirm your ranking
You can modify your ranking as long as the ranking period is open.
What happens if you don't rank?
⚠️ All your waitlisted application choices are deleted. You will no longer be able to receive an offer for these programs. This is irreversible.
What about the automatic responder?
Parcoursup also offers an automatic responder: you indicate your preferences, and Parcoursup automatically accepts/declines offers on your behalf according to your ranking. Handy if you're going on vacation or want to save time.
⚠️ Once activated, the automatic responder acts on your behalf with no way back. Use it only if you are sure of your ranking.
Tip
Rank honestly by preference, not by strategy. Ranking does not affect your chances of being accepted — it only serves to release more quickly the spots of the programs you no longer want.
