BEFORE THE RESULTS (from May 15 to June 1)

Parcoursup responses: what do "Yes", "Yes-if", "On hold" and "No" mean?

Parcoursup sends 4 possible responses for each application choice: Yes, Yes-if, On hold, No. Here is what each one means and how to respond.

What do the Parcoursup responses mean: Yes, Yes-if, On hold and No?

Parcoursup can send you 4 types of responses for each application choice: "Yes" (admitted), "Yes-if" (admitted on the condition of an adapted programme), "On hold" (on the waiting list) or "No" (rejected). Each response requires a different action from you.

✅ "Yes": you are admitted

You are accepted unconditionally into the programme. You must respond within the indicated time frame (10 days for Efrei):

  • Accept definitively
  • Accept while keeping your application choices on hold
  • Decline the offer

✅ "Yes-if": you are admitted on condition

You are accepted, on the condition that you follow a personalised programme (refresher courses, tutoring, preparatory year). This response mainly concerns non-selective programmes (university bachelor's degrees).

At Efrei, "Yes-if" does not exist: Efrei programmes are selective, the responses are "Yes" or "No", sometimes preceded by an "On hold" period.

⏳ "On hold": you are on the waiting list

Your application has been retained but all places are taken for the moment. You appear on the programme's waiting list, with a position visible in your file.

→ Your position changes every day as other candidates decline their offers. You have nothing else to do but wait.

❌ "No": you are not admitted

Your application was not retained for this programme. This is a definitive response for the main phase, but you can apply to other Efrei programmes via the complementary phase as of 11 June 2026.

Summary

Response Status Required action
