What are the evaluation criteria?
Application file review 50%: This is a grade awarded by the competitive exam, with weighting applied by each school according to the prerequisites of each programme.
Written tests 50%: These tests take place on the same day and at the same time for all candidates, namely Saturday 26 April 2025, in examination centres all over France or remotely for students abroad.
Efrei is an examination centre. We advise you to choose an examination centre close to your home, even if it is not the school you are aiming for.
What are the written tests and when do they take place?
The competitive exam consists of 3 tests in the form of multiple-choice questions with negative marking, and true/false questions for the scientific tests:
- Mathematics (1h30)
- Applied Sciences (1h)
- English (45 min)
Each school applies its own coefficients according to the programme prerequisites.
The mathematics and science exercises will be adapted to all profiles: 2 sciences, 1 science or Techno.
Please note: calculators are not allowed in the competitive exam.

How much does it cost to register for the competitive exam?
For the Puissance Alpha competitive exam for General Final-Year (Terminale) students:
All profiles (2 sciences OR 1 science): the fee is €125 for non-scholarship students and €10 for 2024-2025 State scholarship holders (proof required).
For the Puissance Alpha Techno competitive exam - STI2D Final-Year (Terminale) students: the fee is €125 for non-scholarship students and €10 for 2024-2025 State scholarship holders (proof required).
